    How PNG compression works

    PNG is lossless, so the big savings come from reducing the image to its 256 most important colours. For screenshots, icons and logos the difference is invisible.

    If your PNG is a photo, converting to JPG or WEBP will shrink it far more.

    How to compress PNG images

    1. Drop your files in the box, or paste an image.

    2. Keep Same so the result stays a PNG.

    3. Press Compress and download the result. Your files are deleted from the server straight away.

    Why didn't my PNG get much smaller?

    It may already be optimised, or be a photo; try saving as WEBP.
