Common RRB upload errors, and the fix
Photo over 70 KB
RRB refuses a photo above 70 KB (the allowed range is 30–70 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 50 KB rather than right at the limit.
Wrong photo size or shape
The RRB photo should be 3.5 × 4.5 cm (276 × 354 px at 200 DPI). A photo in a different shape gets squashed or refused, so crop it to that shape before shrinking; the tool above does both.
Signature over 49 KB
RRB refuses a signature above 49 KB (the allowed range is 30–49 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 40 KB rather than right at the limit.
Signature under 30 KB
A clean signature on white paper is often only a few KB, below the 30 KB minimum for RRB. FitMyKB raises the quality first and then adds invisible padding, so the file reaches 30 KB without changing how it looks.
Wrong signature size or shape
The RRB signature should be 5 × 2 cm (394 × 157 px at 200 DPI). A signature in a different shape gets squashed or refused, so crop it to that shape before shrinking; the tool above does both.
Background isn't plain white
RRB wants a plain white or light background. A coloured wall, curtain or room behind you can get the photo rejected at verification, weeks later. Turn on White background and it's replaced for you.
Not a real JPG
The RRB portal takes JPG files. iPhone photos are HEIC and screenshots are PNG, and renaming a file to .jpg doesn't convert it. Drop the original into the tool: it always saves a genuine JPG.

Tips for RRB
RRB compares your photo at the exam centre with a live photo, so use a recent one that still looks like you. The signature has to be in black ink; blue is rejected.
