    Instagram sizes

    Square post: 1080 × 1080 (1:1). Portrait post: 1080 × 1350 (4:5), which takes up the most screen space in the feed. Stories and reels: 1080 × 1920 (9:16).

    Crop first, then resize

    Crop to the shape here, then use Resize with width 1080 so Instagram doesn't re-compress your photo as much.

    How to resize for Instagram

    1. Drop your photos.

    2. 4:5 is already selected; choose 1:1 or 9:16 if you like.

    3. Press Crop, then resize to 1080 wide.

    Why does Instagram make my photo blurry?

    Very large photos are compressed harder. Resizing to 1080 pixels wide first helps.
