Common TNPSC upload errors, and the fix
Photo over 50 KB
TNPSC refuses a photo above 50 KB (the allowed range is 20–50 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 35 KB rather than right at the limit.
Wrong photo size or shape
The TNPSC photo should be 3.5 × 4.5 cm (276 × 354 px at 200 DPI). A photo in a different shape gets squashed or refused, so crop it to that shape before shrinking; the tool above does both.
Signature over 20 KB
TNPSC refuses a signature above 20 KB (the allowed range is 10–20 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 15 KB rather than right at the limit.
Signature under 10 KB
A clean signature on white paper is often only a few KB, below the 10 KB minimum for TNPSC. FitMyKB raises the quality first and then adds invisible padding, so the file reaches 10 KB without changing how it looks.
Background isn't plain white
TNPSC wants a plain white or light background. A coloured wall, curtain or room behind you can get the photo rejected at verification, weeks later. Turn on White background and it's replaced for you.
Name and date missing on the photo
TNPSC expects your name and the date the photo was taken printed at the bottom of the photo. Type them in the tool and they're added inside the exact size, so the face isn't squashed.
Not a real JPG
The TNPSC portal takes JPG files. iPhone photos are HEIC and screenshots are PNG, and renaming a file to .jpg doesn't convert it. Drop the original into the tool: it always saves a genuine JPG.

TNPSC signature size
TNPSC asks for the signature as a JPG: 10–20 KB. Running hand, dark ink on white paper; capital letters are rejected. Guides give 3.5 × 1.5 cm or 6 × 2 cm.

Tips for TNPSC
TNPSC keeps your photo and signature in your One Time Registration (OTR) profile, so they're reused for Group 1, 2 and 4 applications. The name and date strip is checked, so print the photo date close to when you apply.
