Common APPSC upload errors, and the fix
Photo over 50 KB
APPSC refuses a photo above 50 KB. Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 40 KB rather than right at the limit.
Wrong photo size or shape
The APPSC photo should be 200 × 230 px. A photo in a different shape gets squashed or refused, so crop it to that shape before shrinking; the tool above does both.
Signature over 30 KB
APPSC refuses a signature above 30 KB. Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 24 KB rather than right at the limit.
Wrong signature size or shape
The APPSC signature should be 140 × 60 px. A signature in a different shape gets squashed or refused, so crop it to that shape before shrinking; the tool above does both.
Not a real JPG
The APPSC portal takes JPG files. iPhone photos are HEIC and screenshots are PNG, and renaming a file to .jpg doesn't convert it. Drop the original into the tool: it always saves a genuine JPG.
