Common Kerala PSC upload errors, and the fix
Photo over 30 KB
Kerala PSC refuses a photo above 30 KB. Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 24 KB rather than right at the limit.
Wrong photo size or shape
The Kerala PSC photo should be 150 × 200 px. A photo in a different shape gets squashed or refused, so crop it to that shape before shrinking; the tool above does both.
Signature over 30 KB
Kerala PSC refuses a signature above 30 KB. Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 24 KB rather than right at the limit.

Not a real JPG
The Kerala PSC portal takes JPG files. iPhone photos are HEIC and screenshots are PNG, and renaming a file to .jpg doesn't convert it. Drop the original into the tool: it always saves a genuine JPG.
