Common KCET upload errors, and the fix
Photo over 40 KB
KCET refuses a photo above 40 KB (the allowed range is 5–40 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 22 KB rather than right at the limit.
Signature over 40 KB
KCET refuses a signature above 40 KB (the allowed range is 5–40 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 22 KB rather than right at the limit.
Signature under 5 KB

Left thumb over 40 KB

Background isn't plain white
KCET wants a plain white or light background. A coloured wall, curtain or room behind you can get the photo rejected at verification, weeks later. Turn on White background and it's replaced for you.
Not a real JPG
The KCET portal takes JPG files. iPhone photos are HEIC and screenshots are PNG, and renaming a file to .jpg doesn't convert it. Drop the original into the tool: it always saves a genuine JPG.

Tips for KCET
KCET asks for more than your own photo: your signature, your left thumb impression, and your parent's signature or thumb impression. Prepare all of them before you start, because the form times out.
