    Common NSP upload errors, and the fix

    Photo over 200 KB

    NSP refuses a photo above 200 KB (the allowed range is 10–200 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 105 KB rather than right at the limit.

    Wrong photo size or shape

    The NSP photo should be 413 × 531 px. A photo in a different shape gets squashed or refused, so crop it to that shape before shrinking; the tool above does both.

    Not a real JPG

    The NSP portal takes JPG files. iPhone photos are HEIC and screenshots are PNG, and renaming a file to .jpg doesn't convert it. Drop the original into the tool: it always saves a genuine JPG.

    NSP asks for the photo as a JPG: 413 × 531 px · 10–200 KB.

    Good to know

    Documents are also limited to 200 KB each (PDF or JPG).

    Tips for NSP

    On the National Scholarship Portal, every upload must stay under 200 KB, including documents. Compress certificates and income proofs as well as the photo, and keep each one a single clear page.
