Common HPSC upload errors, and the fix
Photo over 100 KB
HPSC refuses a photo above 100 KB (the allowed range is 10–100 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 55 KB rather than right at the limit.
Wrong photo size or shape
The HPSC photo should be 138 × 177 px. A photo in a different shape gets squashed or refused, so crop it to that shape before shrinking; the tool above does both.
Signature over 50 KB
HPSC refuses a signature above 50 KB (the allowed range is 10–50 KB). Phone photos are usually 2–5 MB, so compress it to around 30 KB rather than right at the limit.
Signature under 10 KB
A clean signature on white paper is often only a few KB, below the 10 KB minimum for HPSC. FitMyKB raises the quality first and then adds invisible padding, so the file reaches 10 KB without changing how it looks.

Background isn't plain white
HPSC wants a plain white or light background. A coloured wall, curtain or room behind you can get the photo rejected at verification, weeks later. Turn on White background and it's replaced for you.
Not a real JPG
The HPSC portal takes JPG files. iPhone photos are HEIC and screenshots are PNG, and renaming a file to .jpg doesn't convert it. Drop the original into the tool: it always saves a genuine JPG.
